Genealogy Workshop at the Historical Society
Join us for the Harford County Historical Society’s annual Genealogy Workshop on Saturday, October 12, 2025 at 10 am. The morning session will include presentations by two retired Harford County Clerk of the Court’s Office employees, Claudine Adams and Joann Merrill. They will provide an overview of the Court Records available at Harford County’s courthouse and tell the story of record maintenance, availability, and the history behind the institution of court records. Following their presentations, genealogist Mary Schweers will provide an overview of the genealogical records available at the Historical Society. After the lectures, attendees will be allowed to research the Society’s records with assistance from our volunteers. The event includes a book sale on genealogy-based publications. This workshop is a unique opportunity to learn and practice genealogical research with the experts. The workshop will be held at the Society headquarters, 143 N. Main Street, Bel Air, MD.
