“Art from the Soldier” is a series of ten portraits of veterans who are also practicing artists. This series of paintings is the foundation of Pamela Wilde’s first curated group exhibition. This show shall also feature, the art work of these fine patriots.

Pamela Wilde is best known for, “Portraits from Havre De Grace” 2019. She created over 120 portraits in innumerable live sessions, over the course of a year. This huge presentation was later exhibited at the Artist Emporium, Havre De Grace, Maryland, the World Trade Center, Baltimore, Maryland and the Maryland Hall, Annapolis, Maryland.

The current collection of ten portraits were created during open studio sessions. Pamela hosted these at Gallery 220 (formerly Artist Emporium), in support of the Havre De Grace Arts Collective. Pamela used a “Creativity Grant” from the Maryland State Arts Council, in order to share her love of portrait painting.

Intending to shine a light on the artistic talents, of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, Pamela reached out to her local community, to engage veterans that also practiced art, and hired them to model for these sessions.
Pamela is proud to bring together these artistic veterans, and to share their talents in these group exhibitions.

Each veteran will be sharing their unique talents, alongside these portraits. Their talents include the performance arts, two and three dimensional works (2D/3D). We will explore how their military service has influenced their art.

Pamela has a life long passion for portraiture. She enjoys using her talents to engage with her community. She currently serves on the board of the Maryland Society of Portrait Painters. Pamela holds memberships with Harford Artist Association, the Mid- Atlantic Plein Air Association and the Portrait Society of America.
